Owner: Carl Jardevall

Volvo

Carl Jardevall has been the owner of Nordic Motors since 1995. A native of Sweden, he was born in Trollhattan (the City of Trolls), also the town where Saab cars are built. Carl began his automotive career in vocational school, and was a mechanic for military vehicles during his time in the Swedish army. In 1977 he went to work for the local SAAB dealer, where he remained until 1985. During this period Carl was able to follow his love for motorsports, particularly performance (or special stage) rallying.

Carl moved to the United States in 1985, and worked in various auto repair facilities around the Los Angeles area for several years. In 1994, he was offered an opportunity to move to San Carlos. He accepted the offer, and a year later he purchased Nordic Motors.

Carl lives in Half Moon Bay with his wife, Eva, and children, Alexander, Adam and Andrea. He competes in Rally America and NASA events with a Volvo, and also enjoys music and photography.

Tech Service Advisor: Mike Davis

Volvo

Mike Davis is a native of the United States, and has been loyal to the Volvo marque since the late 1960s. He went to Los Angeles Trade Tech where he majored in auto mechanics. Upon completion of his training he went to work for one of the better Volvo dealers in the Los Angeles area. His abilities earned him the coveted Volvo Master Technician status. He became the manager for one of the biggest independent Volvo and SAAB dealers in Los Angeles until 1996, when he moved to San Carlos to work for Nordic Motors. His experience has been a great asset to the company.

Nordic Motors will soon be servicing Mini Coopers

In the very near future Nordic Motors will begin servicing Mini Coopers. We are presently working on acquiring the necessary tools, parts and equipment to better serve your motoring needs.

Nordic Motors has expanded to serve you better!

In 2004 business at 1700 El Camino in San Carlos had grown so much that we were in dire need of more work space, but the prospect of moving in to a bigger location hadn’t yet presented itself so we decided to lease a second location close-by. This first expansion gave us twice the amount of work space.

Finally in the spring of 2012 we found the perfect new home for Nordic Motors. The location at 65 Winslow in Redwood City is nearly five times the size of our original location. Parking is now convenient and abundant and traffic congestion is no longer a problem. Come see the new location for yourself!

With continued investment in tools, education and test equipment we will do our best to remain your #1 choice for your Volvo, SAAB and Subaru service and repair in the Bay Area. And by 2013 we will be servicing Mini Coopers as well. Ask us for details.

A lot of paint and labor made this possible this will be our new home for years to come.

See the transformation for yourself!

Education Important for Tomorrow’s Auto Techs

Nordic Motors’ Mike Davis was invited to Carlmont High School’s Career Day to talk about Auto Mechanics as a profession. Mike told the students that working on cars these days is more about computers and less about turning wrenches. He stressed that knowledge of computers and electronics is necessary to work on the cars of today, and will be even more important in the future. Over 100 Carlmont students attended Mike’s seminars.
